Privacy
Earth Pact Project believes that your privacy online is a fundamental right, which is why we strive to ensure your online security as rigorously as possible.
This policy applies to all pages hosted on Earth Pact Project website. It does not apply to pages hosted by other organizations to which we may link, and whose privacy policies may differ.
For the purposes of this policy, the term “member” refers to a person who has made a financial contribution to the organization, via our website or otherwise. The term “supporter” refers to a person who has subscribed to one or more of our mailing lists.
Hosting
Our site is hosted on a server located at a host whose privacy policy is identical to ours. The information contained in the “logs” of our sites does not allow the identification of individuals, and we do not attempt in any way to associate this information with the people who visit the site. The server collects information on the dates and times of access to our website as well as the Internet address (IP) of the terminal (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) from which you accessed our site. We can thus track, anonymously, a user’s navigation within our site. We use this information to improve the content and ergonomics of our site and to compile traffic statistics.
Cookies
You can view our cookie policy here.
SSL Protocol
The earthpactproject.org website uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), a security protocol that keeps your online communications private. This protocol provides client/server applications that allow you to communicate without being overheard, without your messages being altered. It encrypts all personal information (name, address, email, etc.) during transit between the browser and our servers, so that this information cannot be read while circulating on the Internet. When you are on a secure page, a padlock icon appears in the address bar.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information on the Internet, we also make every effort to protect this information once it is stored. All our hard drives are encrypted before the operating system. If, by chance, a machine were to be stolen, the data stored on the hard drives would remain inaccessible.
Comment moderation charter
Our website and social media are intended to be a place for information and discussion about Earth Pact Project news, open to everyone. To make this space as pleasant as possible, we ask you to respect a few basic rules.
To ensure everyone understands you, please write correctly as much as possible; abbreviated messages (such as SMS) or in all capital letters are prohibited.
The content of certain posts can sometimes give rise to heated debates: disagreement should not give rise to invective. Furthermore, we reserve the right to delete a comment if its content violates our guidelines, or even to ban the author.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of what we consider to be comments that violate our guidelines, some of which are punishable by law.
- Discriminatory remarks and incitement to racial hatred
- Denial of crimes against humanity, calls for violence or murder
- Insulting remarks (slurs, rude, aggressive, irreverent remarks, etc.)
- Disclosure of personal information or copies of private messages without the prior consent of the persons concerned
- Any obscene, pornographic, or harassing message
- Any message published for advertising or commercial purposes
- Off-topic remarks
We all have a political bias. You can express it here, but do so in moderation: we will delete any comment that insistently supports a particular figure or political party, or that has no established connection to the post being commented on. We are a non-partisan organization, in favor of the debate of ideas, but firmly opposed to any partisan propaganda.
We also do not tolerate the disclosure of unfounded information in response to our posts or their comments, nor any comments that contribute to disinformation or the sharing of fake news. Please cite sources supporting your statements whenever possible, but avoid overusing external links, which would be considered disguised advertising or a means of artificially boosting a site’s search engine optimization. Content whose sole purpose is to create controversy that focuses attention at the expense of the quality of the discussions, or to defame Internet users or Earth Pact Project, will be removed from the page. Finally, people who repeatedly post the same content in comments will be considered spam and will have their messages deleted.
